A new oxido-vanadium(V) complex, [VO(L)(PrOH)(OPr)] (L = [(3-methoxy-2oxidobenzylidene)benzohydrazidato], PrOH = propanol, OPr = propanolato) has been synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1HNMR), ultaviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, voltammetry and molar conductivity measurement. The structure of the complex has also determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction. The geometric structure around the V(V) ion has been found to be octahedral in which the positions around the central ion are occupied by ONO ligand donors, oxido groups, and oxygen atoms of coordinated propanol and propoxide group. Electrochemical behavior of this complex is also discussed in more details. In vitro antimicrobial effect of the title complex has investigated exhibiting significant activities against some Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus luteus, Bacillus cereus, Eterococcus faecalis) and Gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella sp, Pseudomonas sp) and fungus strain (Candida albicans).

Coordination-driven self-assembly delivers discrete, nanoscopic architectures that may preserve or enhance the physicochemical properties of their parent building blocks. Herein, we report the syntheses, characterization, and photophysical properties of two tetrahedral cages, [ZnII4L6](PF6)8 (C1) and [FeII4L6](OTf)8 (C2), where L = PtII(PEt3)2(C?C-bpy)2 (PEt3 = triethylphosphine; C?C-bpy = 5-ethynyl-2,2?-bipyridine) and OTf = trifluoromethanesulfonate. C1 and C2 were assembled in isolated yields of 72% and 81% by treating 2 equiv of Zn(NO3)2·6H2O or Fe(OTf)2 with 3 equiv of L, respectively. Both cages were fully characterized by NMR, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD). The local D3 symmetry at each polypyridyl metal node raises the possibility of a number of isomeric cages; however, only the homochiral enantiomers (DeltaDeltaDeltaDelta and lambda lambda lambda lambda) are formed based on 1H NMR and SCXRD. C1 exhibits phosphorescence centered at 545 nm with a quantum yield of 10% in N2-degassed acetonitrile at 25 C. The quantum yield of C2 is significantly lower due to a nonradiative relaxation from 5MC (MC = metal-centered) states introduced by the FeII nodes.

Aim: A sensitive and selective LC-MS/MS method was validated for quantitation of ivermectin (IVM) in plasma. Method: The IVM was extracted from plasma using solid-phase extraction with C-18 cartridges. Separation of analytes was achieved on an ACE C18 column with isocratic elution using 0.1% acetic acid and methanol: acetonitrile (1:1, v/v) as mobile phase. The method for human plasma was validated as per US FDA guidelines. In this Communication, we present the synthesis and use of [Ru(bpy) 2(bpy-CCH)]2+, a versatile synthon for the construction of more sophisticated dyads by means of click chemistry. Building the desirable superstructure of polyethylene is one of the important topics for developing high value-added products, which brings potential benefits for society and sustainable development. Crystalline order is the ubiquitous superstructure for enhancing mechanical properties of polymeric materials. In this work, polystyrene copolymers (c-PS) are incorporated into pores of silica through the wet-impregnation procedure of styrene and p-chloromethyl styrene followed by the in-situ free-radical copolymerization. Metallocene catalyst is further immobilized on supported silica. This incorporated c-PS is proved to be coated on the surface of silica pore walls rather than blocking the interparticle channels. The swelling behavior of c-PS inside the pores are performed by pulsed field gradient NMR (PFG-NMR) and thermoporosimetry (TPM-DSC), where a swelling behavior is shown in the toluene owing to the matched solubility parameters between the c-PS and toluene. According to the swelling behavior of c-PS confined in the pores, a compartmentalization is created hindering the formation of chain overlaps and increasing the crystallinity order of nascent polymers. As a result, the nascent polyethylene with a high crystallinity (i.e., bulk crystallinity Xc,DSC = 72.9 % and linear crystallinity Xc,WAXD = 90.5 %) is synthesized. There is a considerable activity (i.e., 3.8 × 106 g PE·(molZr·h)?1) at 70 C. Finally, the particle morphology of the nascent polyethylene is investigated based on the swelling behavior of c-PS.
