UO2Cl2(terpy) (3): A mixture of 1.7 ml (0.2 mmol) UCl4/HCl 0.12 M, 93 mg (0.4 mmol) 2,2???:6???,2???-terpyridine, 2.3 ml (19 mmol) acetonitrile and 1.1 ml (12 mmol) pyridine was placed in a Parr vessel and then heated statically at 120 ?°C for 48 h. The resulting yellow product was then filtered off, washed with water and dried at room temperature (reaction yield 79percent).
