The solution was subsequently stirred until it had reached room temperature and was then stirred for a further 1 hour at 35 C. It was then diluted with ice-water and rendered neutral and the organic phase was separated off and fractionated. This gave 21.9 g (92.5% of theory) of 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2′,2′-dichlorovinyl)-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid ethyl ester., 2304-30-5
