General procedure: Toluene (5 mL), secondary diamine (2a,b or 4-c) (1 mmol), paraformaldehyde or 4-fluorobenzaldehyde (2 mmol), alpha,omega-diacetylene (2 mmol), and CuCl (10 mol.%, 0.1 mg) were placed under argon into a Schlenk flask (10 mL) mounted on a magnetic stirrer, and the mixture was stirred for 8 h at 100 C under argon atmosphere.The resulting mixture was cooled, filtered through a layer ofsilica gel, dried over Na2SO4.
